Aldough second life couldn't do all i wanted to do for my final mashinema, it was still a great experience and good fun. This project has definitely changed my opinion about second life and i must honestly say that i probably will jump on it and play again when i have some more time available to play.
Big thanks to Dale & Stefan for inspiring our ideas and helping with our mashinemas.

Last day of IST
Althaugh i am happy it's the last class of IST at the same time i am a bit sad that i probably won't spend much time in Second Life anymore. I worked hard on filming my machinima footage to edit in Visual Design. I managed to complete the filming in the time that we were given. I will miss being able to catch up with my class mates and interact with them in this broad world of Second life. Also thanks to Dale, my gun has being recoverd in the lost and found and brought back to it's rightfull owner. Thanks Dale you are a legend.
Here is the last snapshot of the disco room with the worlds greatest dj behind the mixing table cooking up some crazy sounds.
Although this room will not appear in my mashinema it's still my favourite room in the apartmant.
I hope i'll see you all at the party. PEACE
P.S. The big red controll bunton at the back of the table actually works. It changes the light to a different collour by pressing it.

Back to Work
Today was our first class back from our holidays. The apartment is now looking like something that i have imagined for the mashinema, although we couldn't get everything the way we wanted i still find it's a good set to film my mashinema. The basics are there so it's time to start filming.
Very exciting stuff!

I think it's enough room to throw a party.
Maybe i should move that banzai tree some drunk might kick it over and than i will have to clean up after it. :)

The Apartmant
For today's task in class we had to create a apartment banner for our avatar. This was a very simple task. We have build a simple plane with a texture slapped on it for our banner and than
Dale has attached it to the front of our apartments. That's me in front of my apartment. How cool does that look? ;)

Building objects in Second Life
Today Dale went trough a short tutorial with us on how to buld objects in Second Life.
He has shown us how to build a spinning globe by applying textures to it. We all have build a spheer and applyed a world map texture to it. The final piece is a spheer that has being build from the standard primitive objects in the Second Life build menue. The actual sphere is not spinning its the texture on it that's spinning that gives an ilusion of the spinning globe.
Now that we now how to apply textures, my next project was to build a gun and texture it. Unfortunatly i have lost the gun before takeing any pictures of it because i didn't save it in my object list. Bugger! Building complicated objects in Second Life can be very difficult because of the camera angles and also because of the luck of manipulation of vertecies and polygons.

3 places we have visited
Today was the first class with Dale. After he has explained to us how to navigate in second life he has send us on a mission to explore and bring back 3 images of 3 destinations that we have visited.
The first place my aveter has accidently visited was a store where you can buy outfits. I couldn't buy anything because i didn't have any linden dollars. So i just ended up watching someone getting dressed up. I have to admit i did feel a little embarrassed. Lucky it's just a virtual store.:)
The second place i went to visit was a freebe warehouse, where outfits don't cost money. Here you can dress up your character or even furnish your apartmant for free. That's the right place for me. I think this place will be the most visited once we start furnishing our apartmants.
The third place i have visited was the Vic. Uni apartmants. I have actualy got lost in the massive world of second life therefore Dale had to spawn me back to the island because i couldn't find my way back. Thats me outside my appartmant where the mashinema will be recorded. Doesn't it look great it's on the top level.

First Lesson in second life
First Lesson in second life? Not really, not for me anyways.I have had prior experience in second life before, when it first came out we got introduced it to us in cert. 4 in multimedia. I wasn't very impressed by it, i couldn't really see it as a game. But this time that i know that we are going to get an island and plus our own apartments and plus all my classmates are going to be there as well. To me, that sounds like a party!:))))
